I became a therapist because I believe in the transformative power of our stories.

The Power of A Story

Stories have always held a special place in my heart. As a child, I was mesmerized by them-whether I was reading or writing, watching soap operas with my older sister or historical documentaries, tuning in to Oprah after school, listening to family and friends recount their glory days, or being captivated by my dad and uncles’ tall tales. Stories have been a constant thread in my life, sparking my imagination and connecting me to the world around me.

I became a therapist because I believe in the transformative power of our stories. Stories have the ability to teach us about ourselves, the world around us, and the essence of the human experience. They weave the tapestry of who we are, connecting us to one another and evoking a profound sense of compassion. Stories help us find our place in the world, reflect cultural perspectives, shape our values and beliefs, and ultimately give meaning to our lives.

The therapeutic relationship serves as the foundation for transformation and healing. I bring compassion, energy, humor, direct communication, and a non-judgmental presence to this relationship. My approach is integrative, thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. My clinical practice incorporates a variety of evidence-based techniques, including mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Seeking Safety Internal Family Systems (IFS). This integrative approach allows me to meet clients where they are and empower them on their path to growth and healing. I work from an Ecological Systems framework.
